A Home Builder Website That Explains the Construction Process
Woodhill KC builds affordable custom homes and also provides architectural planning and renovation services in Kansas City. I designed the website to explain the building process openly, show the available paths and help local families begin a serious conversation.

- Client Challenge
Building Trust Before a Family Starts a Custom Home
Building a house is the largest purchase most families will ever make, and many assume a custom home is out of reach. Woodhill KC set out to change that view in Kansas City by pairing affordable pricing with a clear, well managed build.
The website needed to carry that message. Families wanted to understand what happens from the first sketch to moving day, how architectural planning fits in and whether the company also handles renovations. The site had to answer those questions in a friendly, honest tone and guide people toward a first conversation about their plans.
- What Was Built
Home Building, Planning and Renovation in One Guided Journey
The home builder website explains the journey from plans to keys, with each service linked to the next step a family would take.
Process Driven Layout
The homepage follows the order of a real build, starting with planning and moving through construction, so families see how Woodhill KC guides them before they read any service details.
Builder Search Presence
Content targets searches for home builders, custom homes and renovations in Kansas City, with clean headings and descriptions that help each page earn visibility with local families.
Custom Homes and Planning
Separate content covers custom home building, architectural planning and renovations, each written to show how affordability and quality can go together on a family project.
Friendly Inquiry Points
Contact prompts invite families to share their plans and budget, with simple forms and clear phone details placed after each step of the building story.
- My Approach
How the Woodhill KC Website Was Built Around the Buyer Journey
01
Understanding
I learned how Woodhill KC works with families, what worries buyers most about building, and why affordability sits at the center of the brand.
02
Journey Map
Pages were ordered to mirror the build itself, taking visitors from planning to construction to renovation options in a natural sequence.
03
Warm Design
Homely imagery, soft colors and readable type made the site feel welcoming to families rather than overly corporate.
04
WordPress Setup
I developed the site responsively in WordPress with editable sections so the team can add completed homes and updates.
05
Publishing
Once forms, mobile views and loading times were checked, the site went live for Kansas City families to explore.
- The Finished Pages

The screenshots show the custom home offer, planning information, build process and contact journey across desktop and mobile.
The build followed my usual WordPress website design process, from page plan to launch.

A More Transparent Website for Kansas City Home Buyers
Woodhill KC now has a website that explains custom home building, architectural planning and renovation services alongside the main construction process. Kansas City families can understand the next steps before starting a project conversation.
For a construction website aimed more heavily at developers and investors, see the Nester Construction case study.
Does Your Builder Website Explain What Happens Next?
I design home builder websites that make services and project steps easier for families to understand.
Based somewhere other than Kansas City? The service areas page lists the regions I take projects from.
